Too many comments on Conservative Home! Also exhibiting huge diversity and deviation from the subject.
Dom anticipated some of the remarks I was going to blog on this subject. It seems that the UK relationship is special when it suits the US - as in Iraq & Afghanistan: Gen. Petraeus was most complimentary on our army last week.
However, try a Google search on "USA Special Relationship" and exclude "UK" and see what pops up.
Great article, especially your points on the Falklands, which were very well made.
