Economic Recovery felt in Elmbridge

We have had a spate of recent good news on the economic recovery. Nationally, economic growth is at an annual rate now of 2.4%, unemployment fell again last quarter, and inflation is also back down at 2.8% (the coalition inherited CPI inflation at 3.4%).

It's also interesting to see the local impact. The latest figures compiled by the (independent) House of Commons library show that - in Esher and Walton constituency - unemployment has fallen by 98 this quarter. It stands at 1.5%, which is the 25th lowest out of 650 constituencies in Britain.
