Care in the Community
On Friday, I visited Sherwood House in Walton, one of our local care homes supported by Walton Charity. I joined the residents in the middle of a sing song amidst glorious sunshine. The staff are dedicated and work hard to ensure a vibrant and happy atmosphere.
One of the major social issues of our time is how we can ensure we have a sustainable financial model for provision of proper care given our ageing population. Visiting homes like Sherwood House, and talking to managers and Walton Charity, provides invaluable frontline insight and feedback as we debate this difficult issue up at Westminster.
