Kia Motors - Coming to Walton
South Korean car company, Kia Motors, is one of the rising stars of the industry, enjoying rapid UK and European growth. With a 170 dealers in the UK and sales doubling in just four years, they have become the ninth biggest company in the mainstream car market.
To match their commercial ambition, they are moving their UK headquarters to a site near the train station in Walton. Yesterday, I dropped in on UK CEO Paul Philpott to hear about Kia's future plans. From the top down, they are really looking forward to becoming a part of fabric of the town. It is great for the economic vibrancy of the area that Walton has attracted such a big commercial player. Kia hope to move in by the end of the year.
