Remembering the Fallen
Yesterday, I joined the Royal Legion, members of the armed forces, councillors and a strong local turnout to commemorate Remembrance Sunday at Esher Green. In the bright sunshine, with blue skies, we paid our respects at the War Memorial, and joined the service at Christ Church led by Reverend Dr Stefan Collier and their wonderful choir.
I was honoured to give a reading from the Gospel of John. Reverend Collier delivered a touching service and the congregation sang the national anthem with gusto and passion. It was a fitting tribute to the enormous sacrifice made by the armed forces since the Great War, and a timely reminder of their ongoing heroism.
