National Care Home Day
Last Friday was National Care Home Day across Britain. I visited two of our local care homes to celebrate some of the positives about elderly care, given so much of the negative we hear through the media. I started the day at St George's Nursing Home in Cobham, and joined in a penalty shoot out and aerobics session with residents there.
Later in the afternoon, I dropped in on Sunrise Esher. The team there put on a wonderful day, with The Opera Bellas livening up the place and the Sunrise team baking a delicious cake (pictured below). I was impressed by the thoroughly positive, uplifting as well as caring atmosphere in both care homes.
