Don't Forget the other Chelsea

Elmbridge may be famous for hosting Chelsea FC's training ground, but there is another international team by the same name nearby - Chelsea Technologies in West Molesey. Hired to help clear up the oil slick from the Deepwater Horizon rig in the Gulf of Mexico, Chelsea Technologies' sensory technology is being pioneered for a range of diverse purposes. It can be used to help submarines navigate and avoid the enemy, test water supplies to guard against chemical attack by terrorists and monitor oceanic algae to tackle climate change.

It is a robust local business with a niche foothold in a growth market. Just the sort of 'research and development' business we should be encouraging - as we seek to diversify the British economy and create jobs.
