The Principled Case Against Prisoner Votes

The issue of giving prisoners the vote arouses strong feelings in Parliament, the media and the public. Amidst the usual tub-thumping there are strong, principled, arguments for refusing to comply with this ruling from the European Court of Human Rights.

I have written a piece for the Daily Mail today, setting out the threat to the rule of law and basic principles of democratic accountability in the way Strasbourg is behaving. You can read it here.
