There are positive signs that the economic recovery is underway, from the growth and employment figures to manufacturing and retail surveys. But, nothing instils confidence more than seeing good small businesses expand.

 

So, this weekend, I dropped in on Jane Attard in East Molesey with Dave Jupp of the Molesey Business Association. Jane is expanding her business, Hopscotch Shoe Boutique, a local shoe shop on East Molesey High Street (opposite Tescos), specialising in children's and ladies' shoes.

 

Jane has decked out a very impressive shop layout, with a wide range of stock, and the store has a great atmosphere. She roped in various members of her family to help with the launch - I'm sure it will be a great success!
