Local Elections - Conservative Gain!

I have just returned from the count for the 2014 Elmbridge borough council elections. The Conservatives had a strong result, increasing our majority on the council by a seat.

The result is a testament to the hard-work and dedication of every one of our councillors, candidates and supporters - not to mention council leader, John O'Reilly. To buck the trends seen elsewhere, and see off UKIP - as well as Kelvin McKenzie running as an independent candidate in St George's Hill - was tremendous.

On top of that, the result of the day for us was seeing the brilliant Steve Bax win in Molesey East. He's worked very hard there for several years to winkle out the entrenched Residents Association from a seat - and we're all chuffed to bits that he has earned his chance to serve on the council.

Out with our local team supporting Steve Bax (next to me) in Molesey.
